Coffman files for County Commissioner
James Coffman has filed to run for Liberty County Commissioner. Better known as Jim, he has spent the majority of his 62 years in this county, having lived in both Chester and Joplin. He and his wife of 43 years, Susan Coffman, are widely known for their community involvement, strong work ethic, and good humor.
Jim graduated from Chester High School and attended Clark Community College in Vancouver, WA. He is a lifelong motorcyclist and a former ATV Safety Institute instructor. His work life has included owning and operating a farm, working at several ag dealerships, and owning and operating Joplin Disposal. He is a board trustee and fire fighter for the Joplin Volunteer Fire Department and a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. He and Susan have three children—Darci, 42, Cami, 40, and Colt, 34—and two grandchildren—Rhianna, 16, and Danner, 13. Jim and his family strongly support our military, due in part to Colt’s 16 years and counting of Army service.
Jim has chosen to run for Liberty County Commissioner as yet another way to serve his community through responsible stewardship of public funds and resources. He looks forward to the responsibility and the challenges involved in this job.Posted: by OverlieP
