Prayer held at school Sunday asking for unity and healing in the community
Submitted by Dena Fritz
Sunday, February 28th, approximately 70 people gathered on the front lawn of CJI Schools to pray for our school and community. Hopefully, this prayer will be the beginning of a community that understands one another. As Grover Briggs stated, “With the problems we are having in our school, community, heck our world, we need this now more than ever.” We were lead by the Ministerial staff of local churches as we, in unison, recited:
Thank you Lord, that you have blessed us with a community and a school. We admit to you that our community and school are broken. We pray to you for healing from this hurt. Please forgive us for whatever part we have played in this brokenness. Please heal us and make us whole. Restore your peace and grant us unity. We pray for hearts that value relationships more than positions or agendas. Lord, grant that we be a community where needs are met, love is shown and where we experience hope for the future. Please grant us this hope and grant us this love in Your Name. For yours in the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
We left silently in the grace of God’s word and continue to pray that we be healed.Posted: by OverlieP
