Sheila (Lakey) Coulston (74) from Bainville, Montana died peacefully surrounded by her family on September 22, 2016. She passed following her 3rd courageous battle with cancer.
Sheila Mae Lakey was born November 18, 1941 to Houston and Nellie Lakey in Rudyard, MT. She was born 6 weeks early and spent her first weeks of life sleeping in a shoebox, staying warm on an open oven door. Throughout her school years, she attended a variety of schools as her family moved around to different oil field jobs. She graduated from Terry Montana High School in 1959.
In 1966 she married Larry Coulston of Bainville, MT. Larry and Sheila welcomed 3 daughters; Lisa, Tina and Lori. The family lived in Oklahoma until 1979, when they moved to Bainville where she lived for the remainder of her life. She worked many years at the Sidney Post Office before retiring in 2007.
Sheila enjoyed travelling, collecting antiques, quilting and playing dominoes. She was active with Bainville Faith Fellowship Church and Kids Club there. She loved her role as a Mom and Grandma; spending time with her girls and grandkids was a priority for her. She loved watching her grandkids play sports, followed their school activities and encouraged them in whatever they chose to do. She treasured her trips with her siblings as they shared stories and laughs, explored many antique shops and filled their vehicle with newly found treasures. Sheila loved taking pictures everywhere she went and sharing the memories with friends and family.
Sheila will be missed by all who knew her and warmly remembered as a very caring, giving and generous person. She had great faith and remained courageous throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents Houston and Nellie Lakey, Ex-Husband Larry Coulston, three nephews Michael, John and Patrick Leonard and many aunts and uncles.
