Wheat Country Estate celebrates” Assisted Living Week”
In 1995, The National Center for Assisted Living established this week as time designated for caregivers, communities, and families to cherish and honor their loved ones who are assisted living residents.
At WCE, during this time, the regular busy schedule was opened up to extra events that promoted friendship & connection among our residents, making last week extra fun and joyful.
This year’s theme was “Getting Connected” so the activities ranged from getting acquainted with more technology-Wheel of Fortune, bowling, and golf on the Wii and viewing pictures on Facebook, to enjoying special coffees whipped up by Jenni Chelmo, manager of the Wheat Country, to gathering together for adult coloring and conversation.
On Friday, in golf carts decorated by employees of LMC, Wayne Hampton drove Mary Lincoln (age 104) and CEO Derek Daly drove honorary CJI football players #80 Wanda Keith and #82 Lydia Hansen in the Homecoming Parade through the street of Chester The week ended with a resident favorite, Root Beer Floats.
Although this week was extra special, at the Wheat Country Estate every week is special. We invite you to come see the residents, join in any of the activities, tour the facility, and “Stay Connected.”Posted: by OverlieP
